18. Colorful Perennial Gardens
There are so many types and designs of gardens that you can grow that often you want some of the plants to continue to grow. When you use a color or a type of flower that will re-grow every year in your garden, this is a perennial. Perennial flowers will come up each year and thrive in your garden. When you use perennials, you are also saving yourself from some work in your garden. Perennials will come back every year, no matter how hot or how cold your area is. There are certain perennials that thrive in certain grow zones but you can try as many as you like that you feel will fit your garden and your style. A perennial is often a bulb or a root that hibernates over the winter months, and comes ‘back to life’ when the warmer spring weather comes again.
Some perennials are bulbs that are easy to grow, like lilies, liatris and alliums. There are some types of bulbs that will not grow in the coldest regions, but packaging will state what grow zone they will flourish in. When you control the temperature, the environment in the hobby greenhouse you can grow any type of bulbs you want while increasing or decreasing heat, and humidity as needed for the bulb.
You can arrange the use of perennials in your garden so that you only have to plant a few different annuals every year for a complete garden, or you can plant all perennials in a garden area so that you can minimal garden work in that particular area every year! Gardening with flowers is entirely a choice of mixtures and colors and when you mix varieties and colors the final out come is a garden that you will be proud of.
Using a variety of colorful perennials around a tree, a shrub or even around your house will add a touch of color to your home, your lawn and to you life!
