There are so many plants that are used in various regions across the country, impatiens is one of these great flowers that are easy to grow, beautiful to look at and easy to grow. Impatiens are used in flower gardens, in pots, planters, hanging pots, in the greenhouse, in the garden, even in the house. You can find impatiens used in the house and in the wonderful outdoors because they donít need full sun to thrive.
Impatiens will vary in size, from growing just six inches to a tall two foot high. Depending on your particular soil and the moisture levels of your garden impatiens can spread out as high as they grow tall. Impatiens can be found in a great variety of colors from white, pinks, red, oranges, and shade of purple and blue.
Impatiens will bloom from early spring until late in the fall which is why many gardeners love to have impatiens in their gardens, as they require little care. You can keep impatiens in anywhere you like, on the porch or in the garden, where ever these plants will be in partial shade or at least for a limited amount of sun during the day.
Impatiens is a perennial flower that will spread their seeds through out your garden when the plant reaches maturity. In some of the coldest regions impatiens can only be kept as a perennial, for year to year growing, by bringing them in the greenhouse or into the home to protect them from the near zero weather.
If you would like to grow impatiens from seeds in your greenhouse you can with a little bit of care. You can start to plant your seeds about ten weeks before the spring season is approaching. Just putting the seed into the dirt, but not covering the seed with dirt or soil is all that is needed to get impatiens started. Keeping these seeds and the soil warm will promote the growth of impatiens in your greenhouse.
You can also add to your impatiens collection by taking cuttings from your plants in the spring months and keep them in water for about a month. Roots will form from these cutting quickly and you can add these to your gardens in no time at all.
